Row crops

A walk through the garden can make one a little envious of the dirt shaping skills of the gardeners. Each parcel is filled with perfectly straight rows of corn, beans, broccoli, and sometimes multiple species co-planted together. The dirt is piled up on the bases of the plants, leaving a trough on either side for watering purposes. Doing this regularly controls weeds by uprooting them and composting them. Each parcel has a slight slope to allow the water to run from one end to the other naturally. All this accomplished with the simples garden tool, a hoe or azadón.
